Sklover’s Thought for the Week

“We have to distrust each other. It’s our only defense against betrayal.”

- Tennessee Williams

Distrust is not necessarily negative. Trust is not necessarily positive. Blindly accepting what you are told, and blindly following any leader, is a kind of blindness that can invite betrayal. It’s good to have faith and it’s good to believe, but maintaining a limited degree of doubt, distrust and disbelief can prevent disaster.
